Valborg in Uppsala is one of the biggest public celebrations of the year, attracting thousands of visitors. Getting to and from Uppsala during Valborg
We recommend traveling to Uppsala and the Valborg celebrations using public transport. The easiest way to reach Uppsala is by train. From Uppsala Central Station, you can take a short walk or hop on a bus to reach the celebration areas. Train tickets to Uppsala can be booked via SJ or Mälartåg, and commuter trains (SL) also run between Stockholm and Uppsala.
For local travel within Uppsala, you can find bus routes via UL.
Please note that on Valborg Eve (April 30) and May 1, most trains and buses operate on a modified schedule. Make sure to check your last train or bus home in advance, and consider buying your ticket ahead of time!

Bus
Public transport is a great option during Valborg! UL’s buses in Uppsala operate with extra departures and adjusted routes to accommodate the festivities. You can check current timetables and changes in the UL app or at ul.se.
Some bus stops will be temporarily closed due to street closures during Valborg, so you may need to get off at a different stop than usual.

Cycling is a classic way to get around Uppsala! Be sure to park in designated bike racks and stay alert to street closures that may affect your route. And of course—don’t forget your helmet!

Several companies operate electric scooters in Uppsala. You can check their apps to find parking zones when ending your ride. However, note that some central areas will have restrictions on electric scooters during Valborg due to street closures and safety regulations.

If you plan to take a taxi or use a ride-sharing service such as Uber or Bolt, make sure to choose a reliable company. Always verify the vehicle matches your booking before getting in.
