Forsränningen (River Rafting) 2024

120 rafts in the Fyris River, 480 brave participants taking on the challenge, and a nationwide live broadcast. What began as a wager between two adventurous students in 1975 has now grown into one of Sweden’s largest Valborg celebrations and Sweden’s largest water-based student event. At 10:00 a.m. on Valborg’s morning, the starting gun fires for the Forsränningen, organized by the Uppsala University of Technology and Science Student Union. The courageous participants start at Eddaspången and aim to finish at Islandsfallet, unless they’ve capsized in the rapids of the Fyris River before then. Learn more at forsranningen.utn.se.

Ankdagen is on Sunday, April 21 between 10:00 and 16:00 at the anktivity area by Ångströmlaboratoriet. Everyone is welcomed to participate on this day!
Ankdagen is Uppsala teknolog- and naturvetarkår’s family event to create a playful, fun and nice day for children and families, young and old. This is done by fun activities like a treasure hunt, pony riding, fishpond, face painting and a lot more fun. You will also have the possibility to visit the construction site where students build their rafts for Forsränningen which takes play on April 30. Food and drinks will be sold to make sure no one is hungry and that you have energy to have more fun!
The goal with Ankdagen is to create joy for everyone who visits the event, but also to the children that cannot attend due to illness. That is why we have a collaboration with Akademiska Hospital’s children’s fund to make a contribution so that these children can have a better life. Parts of the entertainment during Ankdagen will require financial support for the charity organization, but not so much that not everyone will be able to afford it. There will also be free anktivities that everyone can attend.

Som ett sofistikerat avslut på den fantastiska Valborgsveckan erbjuder vi Smålands fabulösa Champagnelyx! Enligt tradition serverar vi våra gäster bubbliga drycker och lyxiga smårätter på Valborgsdagen. Självklart erbjuds också många andra drycker och goda alkoholfria alternativ. Småland’s Nation presents Småland’s Day Party!
A new addition to Småland’s Valborg celebration is here! When the splashing of Skvalborg is over and the struggle and suffering of Kvalborg begins, one should be in Småland’s backyard! Deck chairs and sun (or hail and rain), regardless, we will have a really good time in Småland’s backyard on Kvalborg. Our courtyard will be filled with music, luxurious cocktails, delicious street-food style cuisine, and entertainment to give you the best pre-party Kvalborg can offer. Well-composed non-alcoholic options are of course available! You will have to search far and wide for a warmer Valborg celebration; in our courtyard, you are guaranteed rhythm, joy, and excellent company. Get ready to put on your shorts, roll up your sleeves, and disappear into the summer dream with us! Take the opportunity to step out of your corridor room in slippers for once and rest up after yesterday’s release and before tomorrow’s ChampagneLYX. All we ask for is a cheerful mood.
