The Walpurgis Ball at Uppsala Castle is one of the highlights of spring, attracting guests from all over Sweden every year. Celebrate spring in style with an evening of fine food, drinks and entertainment hosted by Scandinavia’s oldest academic choir, Allmänna Sången. The dinner consists of a three-course meal, lots of singing and performances by Allmänna Sången and beautiful traditions in the spirit of spring.

After dinner, at nine o’clock in the evening, you can listen to the Allmänna Sången at Gunillaklockan in front of the castle, which is also broadcast on national radio. Then the tables are cleared and the hall becomes a dance floor, with live music from Attraktionsorkestern until the early hours of the morning.
The ball is open to anyone over the age of 18 and no student nation card is required. Let the fairy tale come true for an evening and join the Allmänna Sångens valborgsbal at Uppsala Castle!

ABOUT THE BALL
The doors open at 16:00 hrs, after which an aperitif will be served. Dinner is served at 17:00 hrs.
Price: 1190 SEK, the price includes an aperitif, a three-course dinner including drinks and a ticket to the party after the dinner including a midnight snack.
Dress code: white tie (tailcoat, white waistcoat and white bow tie, etc.) / evening dress, with academic medals.

Following tradition, Uppsala Art Museum offers a more relaxed Walpurgis celebration with a herring lunch and entertainment in the beautiful Vasa Hall.

Enjoy a delightful mix of humor and inspiration as comedy duo Anna Karlsson and Henrik Moberg from Fyris Comedy bring laughter to the day. Director Dag Thelander delivers an inspiring spring speech, while museum director Daniel Werkmäster hosts the event with engaging reflections on art and life. All in Swedish!

The week before Valborg, the traditional River Festival is held at the Ångström Laboratory campus. Not only do the rafters build their rafts there, but there are also exciting activities, live music, delicious food, and drinks. Everyone is of course invited to the River Festival, which this year runs from April 19th to April 27th. On Sunday, April 21st, the area transforms into a gigantic playground, filled with fun activities for all children and families.
