Sillunch at Göteborg’s nation

Walpurgisday in Uppsala is not complete without a lovely, traditional herring lunch! Together we celebrate spring with a rich summer buffet with everything from herring to pies.

When we have eaten the herring, emptied our glasses and sung the songs, we march, accompanied by a rudimentary, loud orchestra with drums and singing, to the hat-making ceremony in Carolina-backen where we, together with thousands of others, welcome spring!
