For every kilo of litter thrown into bins in the city centre and Ekonomikum Park, our partners Länsförsäkringar Uppsala and Akademiska Hus donate money to the Children’s Fund at Uppsala University Hospital. With one simple action, you can help make a hospital stay a little easier for children and their families.

Celebrate – and do good at the same time

We want Valborg in Uppsala to be not only Sweden’s biggest celebration, but also its cleanest and most sustainable public festival. Every piece of litter that ends up in a bin instead of on the ground makes a difference for our city, our waterways and our climate.

When large numbers of people celebrate in the city, unfortunately huge amounts of litter end up on the ground in Uppsala’s parks and streets. Cleaning up after Valborg costs Uppsala Municipality nearly one million kronor – and also has a negative impact on the environment.

Please use the rubbish bins placed around the city centre and in the parks. Small actions can create major change. If more litter ends up in the right place, we will have a cleaner, neater and safer Uppsala – for both residents and visitors, during Valborg and throughout the rest of the year.
