Last of April and herring — can you name a more iconic duo? Didn’t think so! Several different kinds of herring are promised, and of course there will be vegetarian and vegan options. Let the songs ring through the banquet hall in between the traditional Valborg river rafting and mösspåtagning.

CHAMPANGEGALOPP 15-18

It’s raining men, halleluja it’s – wait.. this doesn’t taste like men ITS FUCKING CHAMPAGNE!!!
Valborg is here, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for the legendary Champagnegalopp. For one glorious afternoon, we turn the garden into a sparkling battlefield of bubbly chaos. Spray your friends (or strangers), dance like nobody’s watching, and celebrate spring the only reasonable way: completely soaked. Choose between alcohol or alcohol free drinks, raincoat or party outfit and have fun!

You can expect two bars with fantastic drinks, wonderful sangrias and why not a refreshing frozen daquiri (and non-alcohol alternatives). Welcome to an incredible day in Kalmar’s garden with delicious drinks and delicious food from Heta köket. So bring your friends and toast to Skvalborg the right way, with a drink of course. I’m not done yet! There will be TWO BANDS! Incredible!

Lukas Dahlén’s Buskspelsorkester plays songs from the Nordic folk music tradition in new, modern arrangements. The music oozes joy of playing and gets a unique sound with the more traditional jazz set-up where the playful improvisation and explosive expressions of jazz music are mixed with the traditions of folk music. With a blissful mix of old folk melodies, free improvisations, pop sounds and an occasional punky edge, they play folk music in their own way!

The delegation from V-dala Spelmanslag is ready to deliver a lively atmosphere and upbeat music from across the Nordic region. We are a student folk music group with over 80 active members who rehearse and jam every Thursday at Västmanlands-Dala Nation. Our brilliant band leaders, Klara Lundaahl and Johan Jacobsson, are in charge of directing and organising. Welcome!

Do we need to say more? Come on by in the early afternoon to enjoy a range of hand selected alcoholic and alcohol free wine options in our sunny garden. Later in the afternoon there will be some Swedish jazz classics live on the garden stage. You’ll be able to get snack plates from us or try some great food from our food truck. See you there? There will be live music from the Apriltrion: a jazz trio playing spring-inspired jazz. The trio is finally ready to welcome the sun and warmth together with you! Stop by Kalmar’s Garden on April 27 and order a glass of wine (or a non-alcoholic drink), and let the sounds of jazz usher in the rebirth of spring!

The coolest, indie-est, most unforgettable, and truly only correct way to kick off the Valborg celebrations! This year, we’re turning the volume up with our tried-and-true live music concept KALMAR LIVE, with music from some of the best acts in the Swedish indie scene. We will be having four acts grace the stage that has seen acts like Girl Scout, Division 7, Broder Daniel, Nektar, and many others! This year, the Kalmar Live team really went all out with the bookings – so trust us, you’ll want to keep an eye on the first band announcements. Miss it and you’ll hear about it forever!
