The Donning of the Caps on Carolina Hill

Come to the “mösspåtagning” (capping ceremony) and experience the wonderful atmosphere in Carolinabacken!
Welcome the spring together with Uppsala University’s Vice-Chancellor and other enthusiastic April 30th celebrators.

The capping ceremony is the highlight of the April 30th celebrations in Uppsala. Thousands of students, locals, and visitors gather outside the university library Carolina Rediviva to put on their student caps together.

At 3:00 p.m. sharp, the Vice-Chancellor waves their student cap from the balcony and a sea of April 30th celebrators waves back. After the capping, Orphei Drängar (OD) sings spring songs on the steps of Carolina Rediviva.
